Welcome to the Rabbinic (re)Design Lab
What have we learned, where are we going?
A springboard towards implementing your vision for your community in the coming year, just in time for Chanukah 5783.
Join a select cohort of 12-15 clergy peers to receive support and guidance in iterating our innovations as we explore what we have learned and where we are going.
Believe it or not, we’re now in the third year of planning the High Holidays and upcoming Chanukah celebrations in our “new normal” of Covid-19. You’ve led your community through countless changes in the past few years. How do we pause to take stock of all that we’ve done? And how do we determine what’s next?
We invite all clergy who are driven by Jewish communal innovation to join us in answering these questions. The next cohort of the Rabbinic (re)Design Lab will begin November 10, 2022. Over the course of five sessions as well as tailored one-on-one coaching experiences, participants will join a supportive and collaborative cohort of clergy peers of all backgrounds to renew your calling, reflect on your learning, and plan for what comes next. Facilitated by Rabbi Michael Mellen.
Drawing on the Center for Rabbinic Innovation’s years of experience transforming and elevating the quality, impact and reach of rabbinic leadership through pluralistic, cohort-based training and support for contemporary Jewish spiritual leaders as they serve in the field, the Rabbinic (re)Design Lab , updated for 2022, is a dynamic opportunity to reflect, collaborate with colleagues, and plan for new work as we use the challenges of the moment as opportunities for progress and growth.
What’s Involved?
Participants will attend five 90-minute innovation and group coaching labs in a pluralistic cohort of peers conducted on Zoom. The program includes:
Structured peer support and small group collaboration to respond to and plan for the emerging conditions and needs in your communities

Access to expert group coaching as you apply new learnings to shape your community’s future

Pricing, Expectations and Eligibility
Participation Expectation: We recognize that this is a critical time of year for Jewish spiritual leaders to recharge. While we hope that participants can join this community for all sessions, we want to encourage clergy to take the vacation/break time needed to prepare for innovation. Out of respect for your peers in the cohort, we ask that participants make their best effort to attend all sessions, and miss no more than one session (barring any unexpected emergencies).
Eligibility: This program is open to educated Jewish spiritual leaders who serve as clergy anywhere in the world (rabbis, cantors, maharats, roshei kehilla, etc.).
Pricing: This program is generously subsidized by the Aviv Foundation, Jim Joseph Foundation, Maimonides Fund, and Schusterman Family Philanthropies. Registration is available at the following three pricing tiers:
